Spiritual Offense
The Spiritual Battle we are engaged in concerns the eternal destinies of human souls both now and into the future; as well as the spiritual health of our own souls and those who are within our immediate circles of relationship. In essence the battle that we are in, determines everything that is to come because God is Spirit and He will ultimately bring the spirit realm and the physical realm into one entity for eternity.
Spiritual Power is Dependent on His Power
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.
Psalms 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Readiness for Battle Is Purposeful
Ephesians 6:11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Spiritual Battle Requires Spiritual Gear
Ephesians 6:12 …for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Withstanding Evil is to Hold on Firmly to the Faith
Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Jesus Modeled Spiritual Armor
Isaiah 59:16-17 He saw that there was no one, He was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so His own Arm worked salvation for Him, and His own righteousness sustained Him. He put on righteousness as His breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped Himself in zeal as in a cloak.
Our Truth is Jesus Christ
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth…
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me”.
Our Righteousness is Jesus Christ
…and having on the breastplate of righteousness.

…and take the helmet of salvation

Our Weapon is Jesus Christ
…and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God:
Revelation 19:11-16 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND Lord of Lords.
