Our Resources Can Be Useful for the Lord’s Work
Luke 19:29-32 As He approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it.'”
Investment of Resource Fulfills God’s Plan
Matthew 21:4-5 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See, your King comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'”
All Ministry Responsibilities are Vital
Matthew 21:6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
A Disciple Experiences Supernatural Power
Luke 19:37-38 When He came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Praise is Due to The Lord
Luke 19:39-40 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” He replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out!” Ps 98:7-9
Desolation is the Due of Nations Who Forsake Him
Luke 19:41-44 As He approached Jerusalem, He wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace–but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”
Worship Helps People To Seek Him
Matthew 21:10-11 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the Prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”
Access to God is NOT FOR SALE
Matthew 21:12 Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves…
The Worship of God is Free
Mark 11:17 He taught them, “Is it not written: “‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations (ethnos)’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers!’” Isaiah 56:6-8 …
Praise & Worship Reveals The Heart
Matthew 21:14-15 The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple area, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.
The Lord Resides With Those Who Welcome Him!
Matthew 21:16-17 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “‘From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise’?” So he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.
