I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart…
We Can Have A Heart Like God’s
Acts 13:20-23 …the people asked for a king so God gave them Saul son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years. After removing Saul, He made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ …from this man’s descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as He promised.
The Heart Is Our Repository For Truth
Alexandrian Jewish scribes translated Scriptures into Greek about 200 B.C.
The Hebrew text of Proverbs 2:10 says, “wisdom will enter your heart”
They translated; “wisdom will come into your understanding” …to them it meant the same thing. When a person lacked insight the Hebrew speaks of a “lack of heart.”
The Heart Is The Center Of Unseen Emotional-Intellectual-Moral Activity

The Heart’s Natural Condition Is Corrupted
Matthew 15:18-20 …the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man unclean. Out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man unclean…
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things & beyond cure. Who can understand it?
Ecclesiastes 9:3 …the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, madness is in their heart while they live…

The Heart Governs Our Conscience
1 Samuel 24:5-6 …David’s heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt. He said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD’S anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD!
Acts 2:36-37 “…let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord & Christ.” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart & said to Peter & the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
Our Hearts Can Be Renewed
Psalm 51:9-10 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; renew a right spirit within me!
1 John 5:20 …hereby we know that we are of the truth & shall assure our hearts before Him. If our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart & knoweth all things.
A Hardened Spiritual Heart Is Eternally Dangerous
Isaiah 6:10 God told Isaiah: “Make the heart of this people calloused; otherwise they might understand with their hearts”
Exodus 8:15; 7:13; 9:12 Pharaoh hardened his heart lest he hear Moses & gain insight about the Lord, and the Lord hardened it irrevocably .
Romans 1:21 “…their foolish hearts are darkened; so that they cannot see the light of God’s truth.
Romans 2:5 …because of your stubborn & unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when His righteous judgment will be revealed.
God Can Give Us A New Heart
Jeremiah 24:7 I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD. They will be My people, I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.
Ezekiel 36:26-27 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
Be Sincere In Seeking The Lord By Opening Your Heart
Joel 2:12-13 ‘Even now,’ declares the LORD, ‘return to Me with all your heart, with fasting & weeping & mourning.’ Rend your heart & not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious & compassionate, slow to anger & abounding in love & He relents from sending calamity.
Open Your Heart By Believing In Jesus
Acts 8:35-38 Phillip opened his mouth and began at the same scripture and preached unto him Jesus. As they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. He answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Jeremiah 17:5-8 This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength & whose heart turns away from the LORD. He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him! He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought & never fails to bear fruit.”
