Behold Your King!

Our King Commands Us
Luke 19:29-31  As He approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.  If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it.'”

Obedience Fulfills Prophecy
Matthew 21:4-5  This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See, your King comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'”

Obedience In Small Tasks Produce Great Outcomes!
Matthew 21:6-8  The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them and Jesus sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

–I desire to do great and noble tasks, but my chief duty is to accomplish small tasks as if they
were great and noble…   Helen Keller
–Little things are indeed little, but faithfulness in little things is a great thing… Mother Teresa
–If you do enough small things right, big things can happen…  John Wooden
–Many of us that are willing to do great things for the Lord, but few of us are willing to do little
things…   Dwight L Moody

Disciples Witness The Glory Of The Lord
Luke 19:37-38  When He came near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began to joyfully praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Acts 17:25-27 …He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, for He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek for Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any of us.

The Lord Is Praised Regardless Of Unbelief
Luke 19:39-40  Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” He replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out!”

Please Stand And Read Aloud!
Psalms 98:1-9  Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things! His right Hand and His Holy Arm have worked salvation for Him. The Lord has made His salvation known and revealed His righteousness to the nations. He has remembered His love and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; …all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn! …shout for joy before the Lord, the King! Let the sea resound and everything in it, the world and all who live in it! Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; let them sing before the Lord, for He comes to judge the earth! He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.

Peoples Who Fail To Recognize The Lord Face Desolation
Luke 19:41-44  As He approached Jerusalem, He wept over it  and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace–but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”

The Public Praise Of The Lord Prompts Public Inquiry Of The Lord
Matthew 21:10-11  When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the Prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

I Corinthians 14:23-25

A King Is Right To Order His Kingdom
Matthew 21:12  Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves…

I Peter 4:17  …the time has come for judgement, and it must begin first among God’s own household.

All Peoples Must Be Allowed Access To Worship In God’s House
Mark 11:17  He taught them, “Is it not written: “‘My House will be called a House of prayer for all nations (ethnos)’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers!’”

Isaiah 56:6-8 …foreigners who bind themselves to the LORD to serve Him, to love the Name of the LORD, to worship Him, who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to My covenant– these I will bring to My holy mountain and give them joy in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”  The Sovereign LORD declares—

Revelation 11:15-19  …the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world have now become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever! The 24 elders, who sit before God on their seats, fell upon their faces and worshipped God, Saying, We give Thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, Who is, was, and is to come; for Thou hast taken to Thee Thy great power to reign. The nations were angry for Thy wrath has come and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, that Thou shouldest give reward unto Thy servants the prophets and to the saints and they who fear Thy Name, small and great; and destroy they who destroy the earth. The temple of God was opened in heaven and there was seen in His temple the ark of His Testament: there were lightnings and voices and thunderings and earthquake and great hail.

The King Is A Healer And An Inspiration To Children’s Praise
Matthew 21:14-15  The blind and the lame came to Him at the temple and He healed them. When the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things He did and the children shouting in the temple area, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.

The Praises Of The Lord Inhabit His People Only
Matthew 21:16-17  “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “‘From the lips of children and infants YOU have ordained praise’?” So He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where He spent the night.
