Change Your Life By Transforming Your Thoughts By God’s Word
Metanoia—changing the way we think…REPENT!
Psalm 139:17-18  How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with Thee!

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

In the NT the subject chiefly has reference to “repentance” from sin, and this change of mind involves both a turning from sin and a turning to God. The parable of the Prodigal Son is an outstanding illustration of this. Christ began His ministry with a call to “repentance,” Matt. 4:17, but the call is addressed, not as in the OT to the nation, but to the individual.  (Vine’s Expository Dictionary)

Let God Transform Your Mind
Romans 12:2  …do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Feed Your Mind With God’s Truth
Matthew 4:4  …It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Psalm 119:147-148   I rise before dawn and cry for help and I have put my hope in your word.

Psalm 119:97  Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.

Psalm 119:95  The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder your statutes.

Psalm 119:9-11  How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your Word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your Word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!

Colossians 1:27-28  …Christ in you, the hope of glory:  Whom we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Colossians 3:10  …put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him…

Recognize The Spiritual Enemies That Resist Your Desire To Repent
1st Enemy—You Have A Sinful Nature
Romans 7:21-25  So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God–through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
Romans 8:5-9  Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

You Have A New Nature
Galatians 5:16-18  So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. (The Law That Governs the Sin Nature)

Colossians 3:10 …put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him…

2nd Enemy—Satan
1 Peter 5:8  Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

James 4:7  Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ephesians 6:10-11  …be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

3rd Enemy—The Worlds Values And Beliefs
1 John 5:19  We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

Colossians 2:8  See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.

John 15:18-19  If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

4th Enemy—The Spiritual Strongholds
2 Corinthians 10:3-5  …though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Change The Channel To Christ
2 Timothy 2:8  Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel…

Luke 22:19-20  …He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
