Christmas Redemption
Matthew 1:21  She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.

God Allows Us To Choose Forgiveness
Jeremiah 36:1-3  In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah and all the other nations from the time I began speaking to you in the reign of Josiah till now. Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, they will each turn from their wicked ways; then I will forgive their wickedness and their sin.”

Political Disregard For God’s Word Is Historical
Jeremiah 36:21-23  The king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, he read it to the king and all the officials standing beside him. …the king was sitting in the winter apartment, with a fire burning in the firepot in front of him. Whenever Jehudi read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned…

Leaders Who Ignore God’s Word Curse Themselves And Their People!
Jeremiah 36:27-31  The Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: “Take another scroll and write on it all the Words that were on the first scroll…tell Jehoiakim king of Judah, ‘This is what the Lord says: You burned the scroll…therefore this is what the Lord says to Jehoiakim king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on the throne of David; his body will be thrown out and exposed to the heat by day and the frost by night. I will punish him and his children and his attendants for their wickedness; I will bring on them and those living in Jerusalem and the people of Judah every disaster I pronounced against them, because they have not listened!”

Our Actions NOW Affect Generations AFTER Us
He will have no one to sit on the throne of David…

Matthew 1:11-16 …Josiah was the father of Jeconiah (Jehoiakim) and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.  After the deportation to Babylon: Jeconiah became the father of Shealtiel and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel.  Zerubbabel was the father of Abihud, Abihud the father of Eliakim and Eliakim the father of Azor. Azor was the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Achim, and Achim the father of Eliud. Eliud was the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan and Matthan the father of Jacob. Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah.

God Redirects Human Plans
Matthew 1:18  This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 19:21  Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Righteousness Shows Mercy
Matthew 1:19  But because Joseph her husband was a righteous man, he did not want to expose her to public disgrace, so he purposed to divorce her quietly.

Matthew 9:10-13  Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with Him and His disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” Hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

God Always Guides But When The Need Is Urgent, He Guides Supernaturally
Matthew 1:20  But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Family Sins Are Forgiven In His Advent
Matthew 1:20-21  “Joseph, son of David… “She will bear a Son; and YOU shall call His name Yeshua, for He will save His people from their sins.”

God Fulfils His Promises Through Ordinary People!
Matthew 1:22-23  All this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD and SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated means,”GOD WITH US.”

Obedience to God’s Guidance Requires Faith
Matthew 1:24-25  Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took Mary as his wife, but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son and he called His name Yeshua.
