Fruitfulness
Proverbs 11:30
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life…

Fruit Brings Glory To God
John 15:8  This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit…

Bearing Fruit Proves That You Belong To The Lord
John 15:8  This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.

God Wants Us To Bear Abundant Fruit
John 15:5  I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit…

Bearing Fruit Is The Reason That God Saved You
John 15:16  You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit…

A Truly Productive Life Bears Lasting Fruit
John 15:16  You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last.

4 Kinds of Fruit In The Bible
1. Repentance—John the Baptist
2. Fruit of the Spirit—Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
3. People—Helping someone come to Christ
4. Ministry

God Expects Fruit
John 15:2  He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit…

Matthew 3:10  The ax is at the root of the trees and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Luke 13:6-7  Then He told this parable: A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So, he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’

Matthew 21:18-19  Early in the morning, as He was on His way back to the city, He was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, He went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then He said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.

Four Conditions For Fruitfulness:
1.  I Must Cultivate Roots (No Root, No Fruit)

Jeremiah 17:7-8  Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

Proverbs 12:3  A man cannot be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted.

Psalm 1:2-3  …his delight is in the law of the LORD, on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by steams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

2.  Eliminate The Weeds In My Life
Luke 8:14  The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.

3.  Let God Prune You!
John 15:1-2  I am the true vine and My Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

God’s Prunes Us For Our Benefit
Hebrews 12:11  No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Don’t confuse pruning with punishment…

4.  I Must Wait For And Expect Harvest
John 12:24  I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

John 15:5  I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.
