Christ Crucified Is The Gospel!
Galatians 3:1 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.
Numbers 21:8-9 The LORD said to Moses, Make a fiery serpent & set it upon a pole: it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. So Moses made a serpent of brass & put it upon a pole & it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
The Holy Spirit Comes By Belief In Jesus
Galatians 3:2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard?
1 Corinthians 12:3 …no one speaking by the (power and influence of the) Spirit of God can say, “Jesus be cursed,” & no one can say, “Jesus is (my) Lord,” except by (the power & influence of) the Holy Spirit.
Born of The Spirit? Live By The Spirit!
Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?
John 3:3-6 Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
John 4:23-24 …a time is coming & has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit & truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is Spirit, His worshipers must worship in Spirit & in truth.”
Suffering For Christ Is WORTH IT!
Galatians 3:4 Have you suffered so much for nothing–if it really was for nothing?
Acts 5:38-41 They called the apostles in & had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus & let them go. The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.
Supernatural Power Saves Us & Works In Us
Galatians 3:5 Does God give you His Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?
Ephesians 1:19-20 I pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead & seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
Simple Belief IS BIBLICAL FAITH
Galatians 3:6-7 Consider Abraham: “He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham.
Simple Faith Is All That God Desires
Galatians 3:8-9 The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith & announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
John 6:28-29 Then they asked Him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?“ Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.”
Reliance On Religious Regulation Is A Trap
Galatians 3:10 All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”
Religion Requires Regimen – Faith Is Freedom
Galatians 3:11-12 Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.” The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, “The man who does these things will live by them.”
Christ Crucified Lifts The Curse
Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”
Deuteronomy 21:22-23 If a man guilty of a capital offense is put to death and his body is hung on a tree, you must not leave his body on the tree overnight. Be sure to bury him that same day, because anyone who is hung on a tree is under God’s curse. You must not desecrate the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.
Christ Crucified Brings Us Into Promise
Galatians 3:14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
