Open The Eyes Of My Heart Lord!  Pt 2

…Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes so he may see!

Luke 24:45-47  Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

2 Kings 6:16-17  …”Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes so he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Nehemiah 8:5-8  Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; as he opened it, the people all stood up. Ezra praised the LORD, the great God; all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground. The Levites–Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan and Pelaiah–instructed the people in the Law while the people were standing there. They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was being read.

Remember What You Were Without God
Ephesians 2:1-3  As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.

Believers Are Made Alive With Christ
Ephesians 2:4-7  But because of His great love for us, God, Who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved. God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 2:13-14

Believers Are Saved By His Grace
Ephesians 2:8-10  For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith– this (faith to believe) is not from yourselves, it (faith to believe ) is the gift of God- not by works (pious actions), so that no one can boast (Self Glory). For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We Were Excluded But Now Are Included
Ephesians 2:11-13  Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (that done in the body by the hands of men)– remember that at that time you were separated from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

God’s Reconciliation Unites People In Faith
Ephesians 2:14-16  For He Himself is our peace, Who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in His flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which He put to death their hostility.

Colossians 1:19-20  For it pleased the Father that in Christ should all His fulness dwell; having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

We Are Included In Christ With His People
Ephesians 2:17-19  He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household,

Believers Are Joined Together With Him In His Body
Ephesians 2:20-22  …built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the Chief Cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. In Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit.

The Oneness Of God’s People Is Accomplished Only Through The Gospel
Ephesians 3:1-6  For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles– Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
