Keeping God First In Our Daily Lives
Matthew 16:13-18 Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi & He asked His disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” He asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by My Father in heaven. God Always Planned To Expand His Family
Ephesians 2:19-20 …you are no longer foreigners & aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people & members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles & prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone.
…By Building A Temple
Ephesians 2:21 In Him the whole building is joined together & rises to become a holy temple in the Lord,
…Out of Living People
1 Peter 2:4-5 As you come to Him, the Living Stone–rejected by men but chosen by God & precious to Him– you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house…
…In Which All His Servants Serve Him All The Time
1 Peter 2:5 …to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Because He Inhabits Them!
Ephesians 2:22 …in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit.
And…The Temple of God Is God!
Revelation 21:22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple!
God Seeks A Kingdom of Priests
Exodus 19:5-6 …if you obey Me fully & keep My covenant, then out of all nations you will be My treasured possession. Although the whole earth is Mine, you will be for Me a kingdom of priests & a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”
It Is Accomplished In The New Covenant
Jeremiah 31:33 “This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put My law in their minds & write it on their hearts. I will be their God & they will be My people.”
God Is Served In The Spirit Not In A Place
John 4:21&23 Jesus declared, “Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem …a time is coming & has now come when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit & truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
A Believer’s Whole Life IS Ministry
Colossians 3:17 Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Family— Colossians 3:18-21 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
Work—Colossians 3:22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.
Retirement &Leisure Time— Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
