The Foundations Of America 2
…blessed are the people whose God is THE LORD! Psalm 144:15

The Founding of America Is A Direct Result Of The Great Commission
Matthew 28:18-20  Jesus came to them & said, “All authority in heaven & on earth has been given to Me.  Therefore go & make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father & of the Son & of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The Lord Intended for the Gospel to Transform Rome Itself
Acts 23:11  The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.

The Gospel Is Intended To Transform ALL THINKING
2 Corinthians 10:3-5  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ…

The Bible Was The Principal Guide In The Founders’ Thinking
Reviewing an estimated 15,000 items, including newspaper articles, pamphlets, books, monographs, etc., written between 1760-1805 by the 55 men who wrote the constitution reveals that the Bible, especially the book of Deuteronomy, contributed 34% of all quotations used by our Founding Fathers. Additional sources the founders quoted took 60% of their quotes from the Bible. Direct & indirect citations combined reveal that the majority of all quotations referenced by the Founding Fathers are derived from the Bible.

The Founders Interpreted Their Own Actions As Having Been Influence By Christian Faith
The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence, were … the general principles of Christianity, …Now I will avow, that I then believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God…John Adams in a letter to Thomas Jefferson June 28,1813.

The Founders Understood That Christian Teaching Was Revolutionary
Whosoever shall introduce into public affairs the principles of primitive Christianity will change the face of the world.   –Benjamin Franklin

“The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected, in one indissoluble bond, the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.”  – John Quincy Adams

America’s Form of Governance Was Seen As Direct Fulfilment Of Biblical Prophecy
John Quincy Adams 1837 Fourth of July address at Newburyport, Massachusetts.

Why is it that next to the birthday of the Savior of the World, our most joyous & most venerated festival returns on this day?  Is it not that in the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it forms a leading event in the progress of the Gospel dispensation?

Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer’s mission upon earth? That it laid the corner stone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity & gave to the world the first irrevocable pledge of the fulfillment of the prophecies, announced directly from Heaven at the birth of the Savior and predicted by the greatest of the Hebrew prophets…?

The Separation of Powers Came From The Bible
At the Constitutional Convention of 1787, James Madison proposed the plan to divide the central government into three branches: JUDICIAL, LEGISLATIVE and EXECUTIVE. He discovered this model of government from The Perfect Governor, in reading Isaiah 33:22; “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us.”

Our Founding Documents Are Recognized as Spiritual In Nature By Subsequent Leaders
…the Declaration of Independence is a spiritual document. It is a declaration not of material but spiritual conceptions. Equality, liberty, popular sovereignty, the rights of man, these are not elements which we can see and touch. They are ideals. They have their source & their roots in religious convictions. They belong to the unseen world. Unless the faith of the American people in these religious convictions is to endure, the principles of our Declaration will perish. We cannot continue to enjoy the result if we neglect & abandon the cause…John Calvin Coolidge Jr. 30th President of the United States

Failure to Recognize Our Genesis Dooms US
The fundamental basis of this Nation’s law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings which we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don’t think we emphasize that enough these days. If we don’t have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state. President Truman

The American Revolution of 1776     vs     The French Revolution of 1789.

The American Revolution appealed to the Sovereignty of God, The French Revolution was founded on the sovereignty of man.

The French movement was a product of Voltaire’s philosophy which specifically attempted to replace Christianity with man’s reason as the ultimate standard.

The French revolution was a disaster. Anarchy & tyranny reigned with 40,000 people being murdered, the favorite method being the guillotine.

Their constitution only lasted 2 years. France has had 7 constitutions during the time that America has had only one.

George Washington’s Prayer Journal.
“O most glorious God … Direct my thoughts, words and work, wash away my sins in the immaculate blood of the Lamb, and purge my heart by thy Holy Spirit…. Daily frame me more and more into the likeness of thy Son Jesus Christ…. Thou gavest thy Son to die for me, and hast given me assurance of salvation….”
