The Restoration of Christmas
Matthew 1:21
She will give birth to a Son & you are to give Him
the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.

All People Are Affected By Sin & Wickedness
Jeremiah 36:1-3  In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord:  “Take a scroll & write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah & all the other nations from the time I began speaking to you in the reign of Josiah till now. Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, they will each turn from their wicked ways; then I will forgive their wickedness & their sin.”

Disrespect for God’s Word Is Spiritual Suicide
Jeremiah 36:21-23  The king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, he read it to the king & all the officials standing beside him. …the king was sitting in the winter apartment, with a fire burning in the firepot in front of him. Whenever Jehudi read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife & threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned…

Disregard For God’s Word Has Generational Consequence
Jeremiah 36:27-31  The Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: “Take another scroll & write on it all the Words that were on the first scroll:  tell Jehoiakim king of Judah, ‘This is what the Lord says: You burned the scroll…Therefore this is what the Lord says to Jehoiakim king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on the throne of David; his body will be thrown out & exposed to the heat by day & the frost by night. I will punish him & his children & his attendants for their wickedness; I will bring on them & those living in Jerusalem & the people of Judah every disaster I pronounced against them, because they have not listened.’

Our Plans Are Never Sure
Matthew 1:8  This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 19:21  Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Righteousness is Seen In Showing Mercy
Matthew 1:9  But because Joseph her husband was a righteous man, he did not want to expose her to public disgrace, so he purposed to divorce her quietly.

Proverbs 19:21

Christmas Restores Our Relationship With God
Matthew 1:20-21  But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream & said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will give birth to a son, you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

Christmas Brings Us The Gift Of God’s Presence
Matthew 1:22-23  All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:  “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel”–which means, “God with us!”

Obedience To God’s Word Secures The Future
Matthew 1:24-25  When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave Him The Name Jesus.
