Love for God Is TO LOVE The Unlovable
1st John 4:20-21 If anyone says, “I (AGAPE) love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not (AGAPE) love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot (AGAPE) love God, Whom he has not seen. And HE has given us this command: Whoever (AGAPE) loves God must also (AGAPE) love his brother.
Love for God Is Evidenced By Agape Love for Others
1st John 4:21 And this commandment have we from Him, That he who (Agape) loveth God (Agape) love his brother also.
Agape Love is a Family Trait
1st John 5:1-2 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves his child as well.
Agape Love Is SUPERNATURAL (Fruit/characteristic of the Spirit!)
1st John 5:2-4 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out His commands. This is love for God: to obey His commands. His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is (AGAPE) love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Only a Believer In Christ Can Display Agape Love In This World
1st John 5:5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Matthew 5:44-48
I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Agape Love Is The Fulfilment of Prophecy
1st John 5:6-8 This is THE ONE WHO came by water and blood–Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
Only a Believer Accepts The Word of Life
1st John 5:10-12 Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. This is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
Matthew 16:16-18 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God!” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
