What Is Truth? – Pt. 2

Truth Can Only Be Known Through Jesus Christ
John 1:14-18 …the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth… of His fullness we have all received, grace for grace. The law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, Who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.

To Exchange God’s Truth For Lies, Lies In A Spiritual Condition
Romans 1:21-25 …though they knew of God, they glorified Him not as God, nor gave Him thanks; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Therefore, God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, Who is blessed for ever. Amen!
Our Spiritual Condition Is Universal
Genesis 8:21 …The LORD said in His heart, I will never again curse the ground because of mankind; for the imagination of their hearts is only evil from youth…
Ecclesiastes 7:20 There is not a righteous man upon earth, that always doeth good, and who never sins.
Isaiah 64:6 …we are all as an unclean thing, all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; we all do fade as a leaf; our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Psalm 14:2-3 The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one!
Ecclesiastes 9:3 …the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live and after that they go to the dead.
Our Spiritual Condition Is Personal
Psalm 51:5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me!
Romans 7:18-19 I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sin nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; No! The evil I do not want to do–this I keep on doing!
We Need To Acknowledge This Truth In Order To Cry Out For The Savior!
1 John 1:8-10 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all sin. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives.
Romans 7:23-25 …I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God–through Jesus Christ our Lord!
True Worship Is To Recognize One’s Condition And Accept God’s Solution
John 4:23-26 …a time is coming and has now come when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is Spirit and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. The woman said, “I know that Messiah is coming.” When He comes, He will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus declared, “I Who speak to you Am He.”
A Time Is Coming
Jeremiah 31:33-34 …this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put My law in their inward part and write it in their hearts; and I will be their God and they shall be My people. They shall no longer teach one another, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more!
And Has Now Come
Ezekiel 36:25-27 I will sprinkle clean water upon you and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you: I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and I will give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and ye shall keep My judgments and do them.

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For He says, “In the time of My favor I heard you, in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 If our gospel is hidden, it is hidden to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
