Growing in Grace & Knowledge
2nd Peter 3:18
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
To Grow In Grace Is to Know Who It Comes From
2nd Peter 1:1-2 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ; To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
To Grow in Grace Is to Apprehend What God Grants
2nd Peter 1:3 …His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
To Grow In Grace Is to Escape The Corruption of this World
2nd Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us, exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
To Grow In Grace Is to Walk In The Ways of the Spirit
2 Peter 1:5-7 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
To Grow In Grace Bring Forth The Fruit Of It
2 Peter 1:8-9 For if these things are yours and abound (IN YOU), you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Not To Grow In Grace Is Spiritual Blindness & Forgetfulness
2nd Peter 1:9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
To Grow In Grace Attends To Spiritual Health
2nd Peter 1:10-11 Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Grow In Grace Constantly Recalls The Fundamentals
2 Peter 1:12 So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.
2 Peter 1:3-11
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2nd Peter 3:18 …To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
