The Bible Presents A Contrast Concerning Faith
John 4:43-46 After the two days He left for Galilee. Now Jesus himself had pointed out that a prophet has no honor in his own country. When He arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed Him. They had seen all that He had done in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, for they also had been there.
The Lord’s Ability To Heal Is Common Knowledge
John 4:46-47 Once more He visited Cana in Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. There was a certain royal official there, whose son lay sick at Capernaum. When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to Him and begged Him to come and heal his son, who was close to death.
Israel’s History With God Is Miraculous
John 4:48 “Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe!”

The “Sign” Of The Church Is Jesus Crucified
1 Corinthians 1:21-25 In the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom cannot know Him, God is pleased through the foolishness of what is preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
Signs And Wonders Are Not Always From God
2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
The Final Sign From God Is The Arrival Of God
Matthew 24:30-31 At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Taking The Lord At His Word Brings You The Lord’s Blessing
John 4:49-50 The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus replied, “You may go. Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at His word and departed.
We Should Believe In Any Outcome
John 4:51-53 While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.” Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So, he and all his household believed.
The Sign Of Jonah Brings People To Faith Simply By The Word Of God
Matthew 16:1-4 The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested Him by asking Him to show them a sign from heaven. He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Jesus left them and went away.
Matthew 12:38-42 The Pharisees and teachers of the law said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you.” He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; …for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now One greater than Jonah is here. The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom and now One greater than Solomon is here.
