2020 Vision P14—The Bread Of Life
I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst! Jesus Christ
In Our Human Nature We Pursue God For His Bounty Only
John 6:22-26 The next day, the people on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except that one which His disciples had entered, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with His disciples, but His disciples had gone away alone; however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks; when the people saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they also got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus. When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You come here?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.
Relationship With The Lord Must Be Our Utmost Pursuit
John 6:27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”
Human Nature Seeks To “DO” Something Religious
John 6:28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
The “Religion” God Requires Is Belief In Who He Is
John 6:29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: To believe in the One He has sent!”
Our Human Nature Trusts In Our Own Understanding
John 6:30-31 So they asked Him, “What miraculous sign then will You give that we may see it and believe You? What will You do? Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'”
God’s Word Corrects Misinterpretation And Misinformation
John 6:32-33 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He Who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
The True Source Of Life And Purpose And Direction And Meaning Is The Lord Of Life!
John 6:34-36 Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe!
The Promise Of The Lord Brings With It TOTAL SECURITY
John 6:37-40 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. This is the will of Him Who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; I will raise him up at the last day.”
Simple Belief In The Lord Is Always Defied By Those Who Resist The Faith
John 6:41-42 The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.” They said, “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”
Those Who Come To God Come To Jesus Christ
John 6:43-45 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘They shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.
Only The Lord Jesus Christ Can Reveal God
John 6:46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.
John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, Who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
John 5:37 …The Father Himself, Who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.
John 8:19 Then they said to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.”
John 14:9-10a Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me?
John 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father.
John 7:29 …But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me.
John 8:55 …you have not known Him, but I know Him. If I was to say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I would be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word!
John 8:58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
Hebrews 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
1 John 4:12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us and His love has been perfected in us.
1 Timothy 6:11-16 …pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God Who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He Who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, Who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to Whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen!
