The Church Of The Living God P3
…I will build MY church…
The Church Is: People Of All Kindred (Kinds) Called By The Lord
Revelation 7:9 … I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.
The Greek word ekklesia means a called out assembly. 115 times the New Testament uses the word ekklesia and it always refers to a called out assembly and NOT a building.”
Luke 21:5-6 Some of His disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, “As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.”
God Looks At Our Hearts Not At Our Buildings
1 Samuel 16:6-7 …Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the LORD’s anointed stands here before the LORD.” But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
The Problem Is That Our Hearts Are Broken (SINFUL!)
Jeremiah 17:9-10 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.”
The Lord Replaces Our Broken Sinful Hearts By A Spiritual Heart Transplant
Ezekiel 36:26-27 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit in you and move you to follow My decrees and be careful to keep My laws.
The New Heart Is Granted Only Through The Cleansing That Happens At The Cross
Revelation 7:13-14 One of the elders asked me, “These in white robes–who are they, and where did they come from?” I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
A Broken Heart Can Only Be Dealt With By A Confessional To Jesus Christ
Luke 5:1-11 Jesus was standing by the Sea of Galilee, people were crowding around Him and listening to the Word of God, He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into the boat belonging to Simon and asked Him to put out a little from shore. Then He sat down and taught the people from the boat. When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and let down the nets for a catch.”
Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because You say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will catch men.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed Him.
