A Hebrew Christmas

Christmas Originated in the Eternal Counsels and Plans of the
Father and the Son
Isaiah 42:5-7  Thus says the Lord God, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to those who walk in it, I am the Lord, I have called You in righteousness, I will hold You by the hand and watch over You, I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, as a Light to the nations, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon, and those  who dwell in darkness from the prison.

Jesus Referred to that same Scriptural Promise to Confirm His Credentials
Matthew 11:2-6   When John was in prison he heard of the works of Christ, and sent word by his disciples, asking Him, “Are You the Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?” Jesus answered them, “Go and report to John what you hear and see:  the blind receive sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them, blessed is he who keeps from stumbling over Me!”

Christmas was promised to King David
2nd Samuel 7:12-13  When your days are complete and you lie  down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, I will establish His kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of His kingdom forever!

Jesus Maintained that all of the Hebrew Bible Prophesies Concerning His Earthly Ministry Proved Who He Claimed To Be
Luke 24:44  These are My  words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.

The Apostles Taught that the Hebrew Prophesies Revealed Christmas
1st Peter 1:10-12  As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, made careful search and inquiry, seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.

Christ’s Disciples trusted Biblical Promises and Entrusted Their Personal futures to them!
John 1:45 Philip found Nathaniel and told him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

Deuteronomy 18:15  (Moses Speaking) The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you must listen to him.

Jeremiah 23:5  “Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “When I shall raise up for David a righteous Branch; He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice  and righteousness in the land.”

Angels spoke of His birth as THE Fulfillment of the promises of God.
Luke 1:32-33  “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and His kingdom will have no end.”

Luke 2:10-11  The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

The Apostles Offered Christmas To Non-Jews & They Gladly Received It!
Acts 13:47-48  “For thus the Lord has commanded us, I have placed You (Jesus) as a light for the Gentiles, that You (Jesus) should bring salvation to the end of the earth. When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.”

A Christmas gift is given out of love and remembrance of the greatest gift of all the Lord Jesus Christ, but a gift must be Received in order to enjoy it!
John 1:9-13  There was the true light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.  He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
