Calling On The Name Of The Lord
Romans 10:12-13  …there is no difference between Jew or Gentile–the same Lord is Lord of all & He richly blesses all who call on Him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

To Call Upon The Lord Is To Admit That We Are In Need Of Him
Genesis 4:25-26  Adam knew his wife again and she bore a son and called his name Seth: For God, she said, hath appointed me another seed in place of Abel, whom Cain slew. Then to Seth also there was born a son; he called him Enos: at this time men began to call upon the name of the LORD.

To Call Upon The Lord Is To Be Intimate With Him And To Walk In His Ways
Genesis 6:5-9  The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that He had made man on the earth and His heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth; men and animals and creatures that move along the ground and birds of the air-for I am grieved that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time and he walked with God.

To Call Upon The Lord Is To Obey His Word By Faith
Genesis 12:4-8  Abram left as the LORD had told him; Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, they set out for the land of Canaan and they arrived there. Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the LORD, Who had appeared to him. He went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD.

To Call Upon The Lord Is To Remain Faithful And To Trust God’s Historical Revelation Of Himself
Genesis 26:23-25  Issac went up from thence to Beersheba. The LORD appeared unto him the same night and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee and will bless thee and multiply thy seed for My servant Abraham’s sake. So he built an altar there and called upon the name of the LORD and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac’s servants dug a well.

To Call Upon The Lord Is To Persistently And Aggressively Seek His Blessing
Genesis 32:22-30  …Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two maidservants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome.” Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.” But he replied, “Why do you ask My name?” Then he blessed him there. So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, “It is because I saw God face to face and yet my life was spared.”

To Call Upon The Lord Is To Call Upon Jesus Christ
Romans 10:9-13  If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. It is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. The Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.” There is no difference between Jew and Gentile; the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

To Call Upon The Lord Is To Repent Of Your Sins
Acts 3:19-21  …Repent therefore and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out and that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord so that He may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets long ago.

To Call Upon The Lord Is A Lifelong Pursuit
Psalm 116:1-2  I love the LORD, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live!

Psalm 116:1-9
