Growing in Grace & Knowledge Pt 2
2nd Peter 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Growing In Grace Calls for Reminding
2nd Peter 1:13-14 I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

Growing In Grace Anticipates The Future
2nd Peter 1:15 And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things.

Growing in Grace  Accepts Eyewitness Testimony
2nd Peter 1:16 We (The Apostles) did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

Growing in Grace Agrees With God’s Historical Record
2nd Peter 1:17-18 For He received honor and glory from God the Father when The Voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with Him on the sacred mountain.

Mark 9:2-8 Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters–one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.) Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is My Son, Whom I love. Listen to Him!”

Growing in Grace Heeds & Attends To God’s Word
2nd Peter 1:19 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Growing in Grace Respects God’s Salvation In the Highest Esteem
Hebrews 2:1-4 We must pay more careful attention, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. If the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.

Growing in Grace Understands The Nature of The Bible
2nd Peter 1:20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.

Growing In Grace Sees God As The Author of The Bible
2nd Peter 1:21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

2nd Peter 3:18  …To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
