I AM the Resurrection and the Life…P2
The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Is God’s Proof To All Of Us Of His Coming Judgment
Acts 17:24-29 God made the world and everything in it and He is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives us all life and breath and everything else. From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth and He determined the times set for them…
…and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. ‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are His offspring.’ “Therefore; since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the Divine Being is like gold or silver or stone–an image made by man’s design and skill…
Acts 17:30-31 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent. For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed. He has given assurance of this to all men by raising Him from the dead.
The Resurrection Established That Jesus Christ Really Is The Son Of God
Romans 1:1-4 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God– the gospel He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures regarding His Son, who as to His human nature was a descendant of David and Who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Is The Legal Instrument By Which We Are Acquitted Of Sin
Romans 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Is The Power Of The New Covenant For Every Believer
Romans 6:5-14 Since we have been united with Him in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin–because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him. The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.
The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Transferred Our Ownership To The Lord
Romans 7:4-6 …you died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another… to HIM WHO was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death. But now, by dying (with Christ) to what once bound us, we have been released from the law (by His death) so that we (now) serve in the new way of the Spirit, not in the old way of the written code.
The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Guarantees Our Resurrection
Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of Him Who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He Who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, Who lives in you.
1 Corinthians 15:51-57 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed– in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality.
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ’s Resurrection Placed Him In An Intercessory Ministry On Our Behalf
Romans 8:31-34 …If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all–how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God Who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, Who died–more than that, Who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us!
Belief In Jesus Christ’s Resurrection Is Our Salvation
Romans 10:8-10 …what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” this is the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8 …I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried,
…that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures and that He appeared to Peter and then to the Twelve. After that, He appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles and last of all He appeared to me also the least of the Apostles.
I believe in God, the Father, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the true universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.
