Seek for Me!
…they saw His star in the east…
The Wise WILL Seek For The Lord
Matthew 2:1-2 When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men came from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east and are here to worship Him!
Those Who Seek For Him Trouble Those Who Do Not
Matthew 2:3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
The Word Of God Answers Any Inquiry
Matthew 2:4-6 So he gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together and demanded of them where Christ should be born. They said to him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet; “Thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judea, art not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule My people Israel.”
Ignorance Of God’s Word Leads To Error
Matthew 22:29-30 Jesus answered and said, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, or the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
False Worshipers Have Ulterior Motives
Matthew 2:7-8 Herod, secretly called the wise men and inquired of them diligently when the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child and when you have found Him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship Him also.”
True Seekers Find Him and Their Joy Exceeds All Expectations!
Matthew 2:9-10 When they had heard the king, they departed; and behold the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, until it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
True Worshippers Worship Him Alone!
Matthew 2:11 When they came into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother and fell down and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Matthew 14:33 …those in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God!”
Matthew 28:9-10 Behold; Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” and they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.
Matthew 28:16-17 The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw Him they worshiped Him, but some doubted…
Luke 24:51 While He blessed them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. They worshiped Him…
John 9:37-38 Jesus said to him, “You have seen Him, and it is He Who is speaking to you.” he said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped Him.
Hebrews 1:6 …when He brings the firstborn into the world, He says, “Let all God’s angels worship Him.”
Revelation 22:3 No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship HIM!
False Worshippers Seek The Destruction Of True Worship
Matthew 2:12-13 Being warned by God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. When they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and wait there until I bring you word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him.
Obedience To God Fulfills Prophecy
Matthew 2:14-15 When he arose, he took the young child and His mother by night, and departed into Egypt: They were there until the death of Herod: So that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt have I called My son.”
Disobedience To God Fulfills Prophecy
Matthew 2:16-18 When he saw that he was outwitted by the wise men, Herod was furious, and sent soldiers to slay all the children that were in Bethlehem, and surrounding areas, two years old and under, according to the time which he had heard from the wise men. Then was fulfilled Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, would not be comforted, because they are not.
