Seeking, Finding & Worshiping The King of Kings…they saw His star in the east.

The Wise Seek For The Lord
Matthew 2:1-2  When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men came from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east, and are here to worship Him!

Proverbs 1:7  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Psalm 111:10  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments:

Proverbs 9:10  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: the knowledge of The Holy is understanding.

Psalm 14:1  The fool says in his heart, “There is no God!”

Those Who Seek Him Irritate Those Who Don’t!
Matthew 2:3-4  When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

The Ungodly Are  Ignorant Of God’s Word
Matthew 2:4-6  So he gathered all the chief priests & scribes of the people together & demanded of them where Christ should be born. They said to him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet; “Thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judea, art not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule My people Israel.”

Matthew 22:29-30  Jesus answered and said, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, or the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Many People Pretend Faith
Matthew 2:7-8  Herod, secretly called the wise men, and enquired of them diligently when the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem, and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child; and when you have found Him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship Him also.”

When You Truly Seek For Him You Will Find Him
Matthew 2:9-10  When they had heard the king, they departed; and behold the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, until it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

Jeremiah 29:13-14; Deuteronomy 4:29

When The Lord Is Found Worship Abounds
Matthew 2:11  When they came into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, & fell down, & worshipped Him: & when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, & frankincense, & myrrh.

Revelation 7:9-11; Matthew 14:33; 28:9-10; 28:16-17; Luke 24:51; John 9:37-38; Hebrews 1:6; Revelation 22:3.

False Leadership Is Destructive
Matthew 2:12-13  Being warned by God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. When they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, & take the young child & his mother, & flee into Egypt, & wait there until I bring you word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy Him.

Obedience Fulfills Prophecy
Matthew 2:14-15  When he arose, he took the young child & His mother by night, & departed into Egypt: They were there until the death of Herod: So that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt have I called My son.”

Disobedience Fulfills Prophecy
Matthew 2:16-18  When he saw that he was outwitted by the wise men, Herod was furious, & sent soldiers to slay all the children that were in Bethlehem, & surrounding areas, two years old and under, according to the time which he had heard from the wise men. Then was fulfilled Jeremiah the prophet, saying, In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, & weeping, & great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, would not be comforted, because they are not.

Matthew 7:21-27
