The Calling of the Lord Upon Us

The Lord Calls Us as He Moves In the Midst of Our Daily Lives
Matthew 4:18-25
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.  “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”  At once they left their nets and followed him.

The Lord Moves In the Circles of Your Family & Friends
Matthew 4:21-22
Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

The Lord’s Call Looks out to All His People
Matthew 4:23
Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

The Call Is About The Lord & His People; Not Us
Matthew 4:24
News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.

The Lord’s Move Amongst Us Attracts People From All Around
Matthew 4:25
Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.

The Calling of the Lord Is a Call Upon All Of Us
1st Peter 2:9-10 …
you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.  Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
2nd Thessalonians 2:14
He called you through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
