Seventy Sevens–Palm Sunday 2018
Daniel 9:1-23

Seventy Sevens Finishes God’s Redemption
Daniel 9:24  Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people & your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision & prophecy & to anoint the Most Holy.

Sixty-Two Sevens Brought Us Palm Sunday
Daniel 9:25-26  Know & understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore & rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, The Ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ & sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be cut off & will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city & the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, & desolations have been decreed.

The King’s Arrival Was For Our Salvation
Zechariah 9:9-10  Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous & having salvation, gentle & riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. I will take away the chariots from Ephraim & the war-horses from Jerusalem, & the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth!

The Lord Has Need of Your Stuff In Order To Realize Salvation for The Lost
Luke 19:29-31  He approached Bethphage & Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it & bring it here.  If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it.'”

Participation with the Lord Fulfils Prophecy
Matthew 21:4-5  This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See, your King comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.'”

Picking Up a Donkey Is Ministry
Matthew 21:6-8  The disciples went & did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey & the colt, placed their cloaks on them, & Jesus sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees & spread them on the road

Disciples See God’s Power Causing Them To Enter Into The Worship of God
Luke 19:37-38  When He came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Creation Praises God Even If We Won’t!
Luke 19:39-40  Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”  “I tell you,” He replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out!”

Psalm 19:1-4  The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.  Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world…

This is my Father’s world….

Failure to Recognize The Lord Leaves People Desolate
Luke 19:41-44  As He approached Jerusalem, He wept over it  & said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace–but now it is hidden from your eyes! The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you & encircle you and hem you in on every side, they will dash you to the ground, you & the children within your walls…they will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you!”

Our Corporate Worship Helps Others To Seek for Him
Matthew 21:10-11  When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the Prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”
