The Light of the World
John 8:12-30
Light Is A Person : Not A Thing!
John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I AM the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation– whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life– of whom shall I be afraid?
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God IS LIGHT and in Him is no darkness at all.
God’s Light Brings Clarity Concerning Life And Eternity
John 1:4&9 In Him was life and that life is the light of men…The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.
Following Him Is Distinctive Of A True Believer
John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I AM the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
As With All His Promises; They Are Eternal (Because He Is!)
…will never walk in darkness.
…will have the light of life.
…will never thirst.
…will never be snatched out of My hand.
…will be forgiven.
…will never die.
…will be known by My Father.
His Goings Are From Everlasting
John 8:13-14 The Pharisees challenged Him, “Here You are, appearing as Your own witness; Your testimony is not valid.” Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on My own behalf, My testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. You have no idea where I come from or where I am going.
Micah 5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.
Human Judgement Is Limited, Jesus’ Is Right
John 8:15-16 You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father Who sent Me.
The Statements Of God Are Sufficient For All Judgment
John 8:17-18 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. I am One that bear witness of Myself, and the Father that sent Me beareth witness of Me.

Denial Of Jesus Is Denial Of God
John 8:19-20 Then said they unto Him, Where is Thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know Me, nor My Father: if ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father also. These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as He taught in the temple: no man laid hands on Him; for His hour was not yet come.
John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, but the world knew Him not.
John 7:28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know Me, and ye know whence I came, I did not come of Myself, but He that sent Me is true, Whom ye know not.
To Deny The Son Is To Shut Out Heaven!
John 8:21-22 Jesus again unto them, I go My way, and ye shall seek Me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. Then said the Jews, Will He kill Himself? because He saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come?
To Deny The Son Is To Shut Oneself Out Of Heaven!
John 8:23-24 He said to them, Ye are from beneath; I Am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore to you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins…
Our Lord Lifted Up On The Cross Dying For Our Sins Proves WHO HE IS!
John 8:28-30 Jesus to them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father hath taught Me, I speak these things. And He that sent Me is with Me: the Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him. As He spoke these words, many believed on Him.
