The Church of The Living God P1
1 Timothy 3:15 …if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the Living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
Public Opinion Of Jesus Is Just That; Opinion
Matthew 16:13-14 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
True Followers Of Jesus Christ Hold To The True Confession Of Jesus Christ
Matthew 16:15-16 “But what about you?” He asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
The True Confession Of Jesus Christ Can Only Be Granted By God The Father
Matthew 16:17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by My Father in heaven!
The Church Of The Living God Is Built By The Living God Upon The Apostolic Confession That Jesus IS THE CHRIST THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD
Matthew 16:18-19 …I tell you that you are Peter and upon this rock (the confession of the Apostles that Jesus acknowledged) I will build My church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Ephesians 2:19-22 …you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. In Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit.
Daniel 2:34-35 While you were watching, a Rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the Rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.
Jesus’ Death, Burial And Resurrection Was Added To The Apostolic Confession From Then On
Matthew 16:20-21 Then He warned His disciples not to tell anyone that He was the Christ. From that time on Jesus began to explain to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law and that He must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
A True Confession Cannot Reject The Absolute Necessity Of Christ’s Sacrifice
Matthew 16:22-23 Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to You!” Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men!”
Acceptance Of The True Confession Of Christ Accepts All That Comes With It
Matthew 16:24-25 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will find it.
