The Image of God
Genesis 3:15 …I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise His heel.
We Are Created In God’s Image
Genesis 1:26-27 God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, in Our likeness and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So, God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them…
In The Beginning We Walked With God
Genesis 3:8-9 …they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
Seth Replaced Abel As The New Line of Promise
Genesis 5:1-3 This is the written account of Adam’s line. When God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. When they were created, He called them “man.” When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image and he named him Seth.
When Seth Began His Family People Began To Seek For God
Genesis 4:25-26 Adam lay with his wife again and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, “God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.” Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD.
–Adam’s lifespan overlapped Methuselah by 243 years and was alive when Enoch was taken!
–Methuselah’s lifespan overlapped Noah by 600 years, and Shem by 98 years.
–Methuselah’s name means “when he dies it shall be sent” probably meaning the flood.
–There were 126 years between the death of Adam and the birth of Noah.
–Adam knew Noah’s father and Adam’s son Seth was alive during Noah’s Lifetime
–Noah lived for 350 years after the flood and died two years before the birth of Abraham.
–Shem lived from 98 years before the flood until 502 years after the flood.
–Shem lived until 75 years after Abraham entered the land of Canaan.
–Abraham Could have met Shem and asked him about the flood!
Enoch Walked With God As The World Around Him Was In Decline
Genesis 5:21-24 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years. Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
Noah Walked With God In A World That Lived As If There Was No God
Genesis 6:5-8 The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth and His heart was filled with pain. The LORD said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth–men and animals and creatures that move along the ground and birds of the air–for I am grieved that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.
Genesis 6:9-13 This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time and he walked with God. Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. The earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.
We Are In The Days of Noah And We Also Must Walk With God In The Times That We Live In!
Luke 17:26-30 …as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
We Must Strengthen What Remains To Us
Revelation 3:2-3 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
What Remains Is The Greatest Gift Of All
1 Corinthians 13:13 …these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
