The New Way of The Spirit – Conclusion
Only A Regenerate Soul Can Comprehend The New Covenant
1st Corinthians 2:14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
The Way of The Spirit Is In Sacrificial Service
Galatians 5:13-14 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
The Way of The Old Nature Is Self Interest
Galatians 5:15 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
1st Corinthians 3:3 You are still worldly! For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?
The Way of The Spirit Is In Conflict With The Ways of the Flesh
Galatians 5:16-17 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
The Way of The Spirit Is Freedom From The Ways of The Flesh
Galatians 5:18-21 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. (Obedience to The Flesh)
John 8:31-33 Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
The Way of The Spirit Are The Character Traits of God!
Galatians 5:22-23a The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
The Way of The Spirit Is Lived Through The Cross
Galatians 5:23b-24 Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
The Way of The Spirit Is In Walking With God
Galatians 5:25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
John 3:1-10 Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.” In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
