We See Jesus The Son of God!
Hebrews 2:7 Thou madest Him a little lower than the angels & crowned Him with glory and honor, and did set Him over the works of Thy hands!
Galatians 1:6-9 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the One Who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel– which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we (the Apostles) or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
Jesus Is The Lord & Master of All
Hebrews 2:7-8 You made Him a little lower than the angels; You crowned Him with glory and honor and put everything under His feet. In putting everything under Him, God left nothing that is not subject to Him. But at this present time, we do not see everything subject to Him.
Hebrews 2:9 …but now we see Jesus, Who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Jesus Should be Our Focal Point
Hebrews 12:2-3 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Jesus Models The Correct Life Attitude
Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross!
Jesus’ Example is the Path to Exaltation
Philippians 2:5-11 Therefore; God has highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name: That at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth & that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Jesus Offers a New Strategy for Living
Mt 11:29 Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Rom 15:3 Christ did not please Himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached Thee fell on Me.
1st Pe 2:21 …you are called to this: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps…
1st Pe 4:1 …as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind…
1st Jn 2:6 He that saith he abideth in Him, ought to walk (live your life) even as He walked.
Jesus Established that Suffering Is the Way to Perfect Earthly Ministry
Hebrews 2:10 …it became Him, for Whom are all things, and by Whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Hebrews 2:11-13 He that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are one: therefore He is not ashamed to call them His brethren, Saying, “I will declare Thy name unto My brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto Thee”. And again, “I will put My trust in Him”. And again, “Behold I and the children which God hath given Me”.
Jesus is Our Confessor
Hebrews 2:14-18 …He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death, (that is the devil), freeing those who were held in slavery by the fear of death. It is not angels He helps, but Abraham’s descendants. For this reason He was made like His brothers in every way, so that He might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in service to God & make atonement for the sins of the people. Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.
Jesus is Our Apostle & High Priest
Hebrews 3:1 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest whom we confess.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
